Functional Skills: Undertaking additional level 2 maths, English & ICT classes may be required if candidate does not hold A-C

Additional Requirements: Must have been an EU resident for the past 3 years. Must not already hold a degree or Level 4 qualification.

 

Employer Job Description:

To assist in the provision of the kindest care, working as part of a team to achieve required standards whilst ensuring the homes Residents regain their dignity and individuality. The role will involve assisting in the general activities of the Care Home/Unit and full training and support will be provided.

  • Assist Residents in all aspects of their care needs (e.g.physical, emotional) providing attention when needed, whilst ensuring Residents regain their comfort and dignity.
  • Assisting Residents who have limited mobility, or physical/learning difficulties, making the best use of aids provided, to ensure that they safely achieve their personal goals.
  • Closely monitor Residents who may be confused and/or who may demonstrate behaviour that challenges to ensure the safety and welfare of themselves and others.
  • Assist in the delivery of care for Residents who are dying or with a progressive illness to ensure a dignified End of Life.
  • Ensure privacy and dignity is maintained for the dying and the bereaved, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Answer Nurse “Call System” , providing and/or obtaining assistance as required.
  • Make and change beds and ensure that rooms are kept clean and tidy, and any bedroom equipment is kept clean to ensure a homely environment for the Resident.
  • Answer the door and telephone appropriately, respond accordingly, and pass on messages promptly to ensure a high standard of customer care.
  • Ensure the Care Home’s resources are used appropriately to minimise waste and reduce risk.
  • Accurately document care given and report concerns as necessary.
