What is the programme structure?
Attendance is 2 days a week from 9.30am to 2.30pm. Sessions will be both practical and theory based.
Who is the programme for?
This course is designed for 19+ adults wishing to return to education and who want to develop the skills needed and achieve a L3 qualification in order to progress onto an HE Art & Design course. To gain entry, students must have a grade C in Maths and English and a suitable art based portfolio.
How long does it take to complete?
The course will run on a Monday and Wednesday from April 2017 to May 2018.

To gain entry, students must have a grade C in Maths and English and a suitable art based portfolio.
What does it include?
Students will study 45 credits at level 3 and 15 credits at either level 2 or level 3 across a wide range of art & design disciplines including fine art (drawing, painting, printmaking), textiles, ceramics, 3D design, graphics and digital design, and photography.
Are there any special facilities for the programme?
Mid Cheshire offer State of the Art facilities on campus to support learning. Sessions will be delivered in purpose built art studios and workshops and Mac computer suites.
Will there be any extra costs involved?
Students will be required to provide some of their own basic arts materials and equipment such as sketchbooks, paintbrushes, watercolour paints... Materials and equipment are available for purchase in the college art shop. Students are required to pay for their own prints. There will be a materials fee of £30.
How is the programme assessed?
The programme is assessed in a variety of ways including production of final art & design art pieces with supporting sketchbook work, essays and presentations

What can I do next?
Students can progress onto the Mid Cheshire College HND in Fine Art, Foundation Degree in Photography or Graphic Design or apply to many UK universities to study at degree level.
