What is the programme structure?

Students will be taught how to select and experiment safely, with different types of drawing media (pencils/graphite/charcoal/pastels) and paint media (watercolour/acrylic paints). Students will be working from still life compositions, artists images and own photographs for inspiration. They will review art work and understand how to apply the basics of working and using a range of materials and techniques to achieve the desired creative outcome.

Who is the programme for?

Anyone who is interested and enjoys all areas of art; this course is ideal for those that would like a full day session but don’t want the pressure of completing a qualification or cannot commit to a year course. Within the course you will produce a portfolio of work showing a range of techniques with different types of media.

How long does it take to complete?
The course runs for 5 hours per week for 6 weeks on the Monday or 7 weeks on the Friday

No previous qualifications required.

What does it include?

The programme includes group and one to one tuition.

Are there any special facilities for the programme?
The classroom provided will be sufficient for the courses requirements.

Will there be any extra costs involved?

Learners should purchase their own equipment for the first session. Items can be purchased from the Colleges Art shop at the first session. Tutor will provide hand-outs for guidance during the course.

Tutor assessment. No formal exam.

What award will I achieve?
There is no award for this course.

Students can continue to develop their painting & drawing skills in this class. They will also be advised of other courses available for further study at Mid Cheshire College.
