What is the programme structure?
Following an initial workshop, you will meet with your Primary Assessor for tutorials, approximately 1 hour every 3 /4 weeks.
Who is the programme for?
The Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is designed to offer those individuals who are concerned with assessing learners taking National Vocational Qualifications, a programme of training in skills, techniques and principles of assessing competency using a variety of methods.
How long does it take to complete?
You have 12 months in which to complete the award.
What qualifications do I need?
You need to meet the occupational competence required as set out in the assessment strategy for the National Vocational Qualification you are assessing. In addition you will need to ensure you have access to at least 2 NVQ learners to assess.
What does it include?
Your Primary Assessor will also provide e-mail and telephone support along with 1:1 tutorials.

How is the programme assessed?
The programme is assessed through completion of a portfolio demonstrating: • Developing plans for assessing competence with candidates • Judging evidence against criteria to make assessment decisions • Providing feedback and support to candidates on assessment decisions • Contributing to the internal quality assurance process You will also be observed by your Primary Assessor and conduct a professional discussion.

Following successful completion of the Level 3 Award and dependent on your Standards Setting Body requirements you can commence your level 4 Certificate in leading the internal quality of assurance of the assessment process and practice.
