What is the programme structure?

This course is aimed at beginners or those who have some previous skills. You will go through the planning and techniques required to produce a mosaic picture frame. You will be guided on how to make circles using straight lines and how to create simple patterns when the colour palette is limited. One you have created template you will then work on the actual simple mosaic. Along the way you will be guided on the skill and patience required to cut the glass tesserae, finding out why adaptability and openness to swift change is key!

Who is the programme for?

This course is for learners who would like to learn the art of mosaics to produce a photo frame.

How long does it take to complete?
This course is 2 hours per week over 4 weeks.

What qualifications do I need?

No previous qualifications required

What does it include?

Basic materials will be provided, any extra or personalised materials you wish to bring can be done so with discussion with the tutor.

Are there any special facilities for the programme?

Will there be any extra costs involved?

All the basic materials are provided. If you wish to include an favourite glass or tiles please bring this along after discussion with the tutor.

Please wear old clothes and closed toe shoes.
Please bring an apron, a hand towel and if you need them, thin plastic gloves.
Safety glasses will be provided where applicable.

How is the programme assessed?
Tutor assessment. No formal exam

What award will I achieve?
There is no award for this course.
