What is the programme structure?
You will be introduced to the digital programme; Adobe Photoshop. You will learn how to use a range of tools within the programme to manipulate and alter images. This will include photo editing techniques, merging images and cropping, adding filters to your own photographs. You will also be encouraged to explore the relationship between text and image and produce design products such posters and flyers. Wherever possible you will be encouraged to work with your own images in order to create a very personalised response.
Who is the programme for?
This course is aimed at adult learners who have an interest in digital arts. No previous experience is required and all ability levels are welcome.
How long does it take to complete?
This course is delivered over 10 weeks in Term 2. The start date is Wednesday 18th January 2017 until Wed 29th March 2017. Each session will start at 1.20pm and finish at 4.30pm.
What qualifications do I need?
No previous qualifications are required; just an interest and enthusiasm for digital manipulation.
What does it include?
You will become proficient in manipulating digital images using Adobe Photoshop. You will explore the relationship between text and image. You will become more familiar with layout and compositional considerations when creating posters and flyers.
Are there any special facilities for the programme?
You will have access to an Apple Mac suite and printing facilities. The course will be delivered by a specialist member of teaching staff.
Will there be any extra costs involved?
Learners will be required to print their work either from our printing bureau at an extra cost or at home. Learners will also require a USB memory stick to store their work.
How is the programme assessed?
This programme is assessed through practical studio work, sketchbook work and written evaluation.

L1 Award in Exploring Occupational Studies: Digital Graphics Editing
What can I do next?
On successful completion of the programme students may progress onto a higher level course in digital arts, or do freelance digital work.
