What is the programme structure?
This programme structure includes a range of units of study.
3 Mandatory units:
• Investigate Sources of Ideas in Art & Design
• Explore & Use Art & Design materials, Techniques & Visual Language
* Produce Final Art & Design Work
2 Specialist units:
• 3D Visual Communication
• 2D Visual Communication
Who is the programme for?
This programme is aimed towards adult students who wish to gain a formal qualification in Art and Design.
How long does it take to complete?
This programme will run for 1 year.
What qualifications do I need?
No formal qualifications needed
What does it include?
You will develop creative skills in Painting such as Watercolour & Acrylics - Drawing - Print Making - 3D Design - Art History.
Are there any special facilities for the programme?
The special facilities will include tutors, who are experienced within a wide range of Fine Art disciplines, practicing along side their teaching.
Will there be any extra costs involved?
£365 course costs and £30 materials cost. Students are required to supply some of their own equipment and materials. Amounts vary according to student preferences.
How is the programme assessed?
This programme is assessed through practical studio work, sketchbook work and written evaluation.
What award will I achieve?
You will gain an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Art & Design
What can I do next?
On successful completion of the programme students may progress onto a higher level course in Fine Art, become self employed artists or work within the arts industry.

How do I get further information?
The core units will provide underpinning knowledge in the principles of Fine Art. These include drawing and painting skills, generating ideas, theory, specialist working methods and responding to briefs. You will be experimenting with materials and techniques, influences of contemporary and historical research and developing a personal response to image making.
