What is the programme structure?

The programme structure includes a range of units of study. Four mandatory units:- Use materials, tools and equipment to develop Textile techniques. Investigate creative enterprise and employment opportunities. Develope textile ideas. Create, present and evaluate a final textile item.

Who is the programme for?

This course is aimed at adult learners who are interested in Textiles and is suitable for beginners or those with more experience.

How long does it take to complete?
This course is over Spring and Summer Terms 2017. It runs from 20th January until 16th July on Fridays 09.10am to 4.30pm. You will then have an opportunity to apply for a higher level course.

What qualifications do I need?

You need no formal qualifications to do this course.

What does it include?

You will learn and develop creative textiles. This will involve a number of projects usning a range of skills, including, surface pattern techniques, surface print techniques, felt making, machine embroidery and embelleshing.

Are there any special facilities for the programme?
The specialist facilities will include access to the full range of materials, equipment, rooms tools and equipment. You will work with the specialist tutor, who is experienced in the full range of textile disciplines.

Will there be any extra costs involved?

The course costs £382 which includes basic material costs

How is the programme assessed?
The programme is assessed through practical studio work, samples, sketchbook work and written evaluation.

What award will I achieve?
NCFE L2 Certificate in Creative Craft Textiles

Examining/Validating Body:
The examining body is NCFE.

What can I do next?

On completion of this course, you will have the opportunity to continue furhter on a range of higher level courses.
