What is the programme structure?
The growth of online travel businesses, budget airlines and hotels means there is more choice for tourists and numerous employment opportunities. The booming Travel & Tourism Industry accounts for over 10% of the UK's total employment and is now considered to be the world's bieggest employer. The programme will cover a variety of elements including travel and tourism, evironment, law, finance, marketing and passenger transport operation to meet the needs of the industry. The programme is for those students who are motivated to abtain a higher level position within the travel and tourism industry, whether this may be in sales, marketing management, tour operatior management, public relations or customer service.

UCAS Points Required: 80 points from Level 3 qualifications. For example: A levels; BTEC Extended Diploma; Access to HE Diploma; NVQ3

Listed below is an example of units typically delivered but the Pearson qualifications are modular, which allows a certain degree of flexibility and Mid Cheshire College will tailor the units to the needs and interests of the group.

Coursework including essays, report, case studies and presentations.

Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management (QCF)
Pearson (formally Edexcel)
What can I do next?
On completion of the course students will have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 6 (top up year) in a related subject or into one of the wide range of career opportunities including tour operations, the aviation sector, visitor attractions, hotels and the public sector.

All applicants wishing to apply for a Higher Education course at Mid Cheshire College must apply through UCAS – see the link below for help with the application process. Although the deadline is 15th January, we will consider late applications but advise applying by the end of April.
The only exception to this is for those applying for the employer-sponsored HNC/HND Engineering, who can complete the 19+ Application Form which can be downloaded here.
