4 GCSEs at grade A* - C or equivalent including C or above in English Language.
What does it include?
This course includes a Study Programme to provide learners with a coherent and enriching curriculum which will provide them with the academic, social and employability skills to progress to further or higher education or employment. The content of the study programme is designed to broaden the learner experience beyond the main qualification of study. The key theme of Study Programmes at Level 3 will be the development of personal, social and enterprise skills to enable progression to higher levels of study or employment. As well as your core qualification you will study GCSE or Functional Skills in English or Maths plus English and maths development as part of the core qualification. Learners will also undertake personal progress planning and pastoral education. Plus additional personal development activity which will include work experience and projects.
Are there any special facilities for the programme?
The department has a range of specialist airline equipment which may be used to deliver the specialist aviation units.
Will there be any extra costs involved?
You will be invited to take part in an exciting range of day visits and residential visits to travel and tourism employers and tourist attractions. There will be one compulsory residential visit. There will be extra costs associated with the visits. More information will be provided at interview. All students are expected to purchase a programme text book.
How is the programme assessed?
By completing programme work, projects and case studies. There are no examinations on the BTEC 90 Credit Diploma.

Level 3 BTEC National Foundation Diploma in Travel and Tourism
What can I do next?
Progress to higher level travel & tourism programmes such as the L3 Diploma in Travel & Tourism and employment in the travel and tourism industry, e.g. travel agents, tour operators, airlines.
