What is the programme structure?
You will study the following modules:-
• The UK Travel & Tourism Industry
• Worldwide Destinations
• Customer Service in Travel & Tourism
• Marketing in Travel & Tourism
• European Holiday Destinations
• Preparing for Employment
• Exploring airports and airlines
• Holiday Reps
• Overseas Holiday Operations
The programme includes taught classes, visits to employers, tourist attractions and residential study visits.

This programme is for you if you enjoy travelling, working with people and can show good customer service skills and want to work in the travel and tourism industry.

4 GCSEs at grade D or above or equivalent.
What does it include?
This course includes a Study Programme to provide learners with a coherent and enriching curriculum which will provide them with the academic, social and employability skills to progress to further or higher education or employment.
The content of the study programme is designed to broaden the learner experience beyond the main qualification of study.
The key theme of Study Programmes at Level 2 will be the development of occupational skills in a selected vocational area and the development of personal, social and employability skills with a view to raising aspirations.
As well as your core qualification you will study GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths plus English and maths development as part of the core qualification.
Learners will also undertake personal progress planning and pastoral education. Plus additional personal development activity which may include work experience and projects.
Are there any special facilities for the programme?
The department has a range of specialist airline equipment which may be used to deliver some of the untis.
Will there be any extra costs involved?
You will take part in an exciting range of day visits and residential visits to travel and tourism employers and tourist attractions. The residential visits will be voluntary. There will be extra costs associated with the visits. More information will be provided at interview. All students are expected to purchase a programme text book.
How is the programme assessed?
Assessment will be through projects, assignments, individual and group work. There are no examinations on this course. Final assessment is based on a portfolio of work which you will produce over the year.

What can I do next?
You will be able to progress on to the Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Travel & Tourism, into employment as a travel agent or resort representative.
