This programme is for those students who wish to pursue a career as a sports coach or activity leader.

4 GCSEs at grade D or above or NVQ Level 1 Sport & Active Leisure
What does it include?
The candidate is required to complete 8 units.
Are there any special facilities for the programme?
You will use facilities at the Colleges sports centre including a sports hall, fitness suite and specialist gym equipment, a sports laboratory and outdoor sports pitches.
Will there be any extra costs involved?
Additional costs will be between £40- £70 for Sports Kit, and stationery items. Financial support may be available for this.
How is the programme assessed?
Continuous assessment of practical activities in the Colleges sports centre and outdoor sports facilities. The final assessment is based on a portfolio of work, which you will produce during the year.
What award will I achieve?
NVQ Level 2 in Sport, Recreation and Allied Occupations: Activity Leadership
What can I do next?
You will be able to progress onto the BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport (performance & excellence) or into employment within the leisure industry.
