What is the programme structure?
Develop skills in communication and literacy, working with numbers and Information Technology. Experience different vocational areas and develop appropriate life skills through practical activities. Students work in small groups with individual support where appropriate. Specialist support is available and includes, communicators, specialist resources, physical assistance and Dyslexia specialists.
Who is the programme for?
Young people who are not sure of their career choice and would like to try a range of options or need extra support.

What qualifications do I need?
Foundation for Future Entry level courses are for those who have gained no formal qualifications at school or for other reasons do not meet the requirements of a level 1 course and also require further career guidance to try a range of options with extra support.
What does it include?
This course includes the following units: Functional English and Maths. Information Technology, Enterprise Activities, Citizenship, Personal Development and Community Studies. You will also choose at least two options from a range of vocational areas such as Performing Arts, Construction, Art & Design and Catering, subject to availability.
Are there any special facilities for the programme?
Access to specialist vocational areas if applicable.
Will there be any extra costs involved?
Extra costs may include visits which are an integral part of the curriculum. Students will be notified in advance of any planned visits.
How is the programme assessed?
Coursework is assessed throughout the course by means of assignments and projects leading to Edexcel Entry Level Awards and Certificates.
What award will I achieve?
Certificate and Award in Personal and Social Development at Entry Levels 2 or 3. Award in Functional Skills Maths & English.
What can I do next?
Staff and students have regular contact with the careers service. On completing this Entry level course, students may wish to access the Certificate in Vocational Studies Entry Level 3 course or a Level 1 course.
