A football club in Cheshire has teamed up with the college to give learners the chance to participate in real life working experiences.
Barnton AFC has already given the first group of learners the opportunity to use the skills they have learnt from their courses in a real working situation.
The learners, from the College’s Painting and Decorating department, took on a two day job to redecorate the player changing rooms.
Ian Ross, Chairman at Barnton AFC, said, “I was really pleased with both the professionalism and expertise the learners showed during their recent work experience at the football club. I would like to thank each and every one of them for their efforts along with Nicola Woodhouse, Employer Engagement Coordinator for making it all possible.”
“At a particularly busy time of year for the club behind the scenes, it was great to have the helping hands of the painters and decorators from Mid Cheshire College, in the knowledge that they were gaining invaluable real life experience.”
Ian also believes this is the beginning of a successful partnership, “We at Barnton are extremely grateful for this opportunity and look forward to welcoming more learners across a variety of subjects over the coming months and years.”
