Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection

Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection

Where we suspect that a young person or vulnerable adult is being abused we will take appropriate measures to protect them.  This might involve reporting our concerns to Social Care or the police.  Where appropriate we will also discuss our concerns with parents or carers.

All College staff are trained in spotting and dealing with issues of abuse, appropriate to their level of responsibility.

A nominated Governor and Senior Manager have responsibility for overseeing Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection, and issues are dealt with by one of the three College Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Officers.

All staff and volunteers working at the College have an enhanced check through the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) system to ensure that they are suitable to work with young people and vulnerable adults.
